The Shed at Lobhill Farm (ed. now named Lew Valley Lodge)…
Just returned from the dreamiest most relaxing break at The Shed with stunning views over Alder Vineyard. The Shed is beautifully furnished with some quirky handmade fixtures and fittings. We had a lovely welcome package of local produce waiting for us on arrival, Alder vineyard wine, shortbread, crackers, cheese, fudge, fresh fruit and more. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need including beautiful dinnerware and thoughtful touches like condiments, spices and lovely colourful table settings. The bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated. There is also a very handy boot room/utility area. The panoramic patio doors slide open onto a large wrap around deck with outdoor dining and seating, we were blessed with scorching weather so made maximum use of this area. Jane at Lobhill farm is so helpful and recommended local restaurants, we had a great curry in Tavistock at The Ganges restaurant and then a spectacular meal at The Dartmoor Inn, pricey but well worth it. We walked down through the woodland to The Alder Vineyard, we went in the morning for coffee and cake and sat outside on the terrace with views over the valley, they also offer a delicious lunch menu. We drove into Wadebridge one day and did the cycle Camel trail into Padstow we spent the whole day there in the town and then on the beach finishing off with fish n chips sitting by the harbour before cycling back at 7pm. Back at The Shed we spent the evening playing cards drinking red wine and tucking into the cheese, crackers, chutney and fruit left by our host. All in all a fabulous break that left us totally relaxed and refreshed. Thankyou Jane, we will be back.
